The EFS 15-85mm had shown me I could manage with an F4 lens and the wide zoom range was useful. The RF 24-240mm was tempting but the extra barrel length was less welcome for general use. Performance-wise, the RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM has very few flaws. It might just be the single most consistent 24-105mm lens on the market. The lens features very good sharpness at f/4 and excellent sharpness at all focal lengths between f/5.6 and f/11. Even in the corners, you’ll capture surprisingly sharp images for a zoom lens of this range.
While it's a tad pricey for a zoom lens, the RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM is a great performer that pairs perfectly with the EOS R. It offers the stabilisation (five stops of it) that the body lacks and the new Control ring is a revelation.
