2018 BMW F 700 GS. Don’t let the 700 designation fool you. Seat height: 32.3 inches (adjustable) Fuel capacity: 4.2 gallons; Fuel consumption: 55 mpg at a constant 55 mph; Curb weight: 461
I have an 2011 1200GS with a standard seat. For me, the Sargent low is lower than the standard seat. Just measuring the lowest part of each seat, I found that the Sargent was about 1 inch lower. I can get about 30 minutes on the BMW standard seat before my butt starts to hurt, with the Sargent I get 45 to 50 minutes.
F 800 GS is available to all riders, five possible seat heights are available for each model with four seats and the optional lowered suspension (ex works option). This makes for a wide seat height range of 765 mm – 860 mm (F 700 GS) and 820 mm – 920 mm (F 800 GS). An overview of highlights in the new F 700 GS and F 800 GS:
The BMW F 850 GS Adventure. Seat height, unladen 875 mm (SA low-slung: 815 mm, SA double seat low: 835 mm, SA double seat: 860 mm, SZ rally seat: 890 mm)
My F800GS came with stock Standard seat height. Too high for me. So, shortly after getting my used 2012 F800GS, I ordered a Seat Concepts Low seat. Used that Low seat for about a year and recently purchased a Seat Concepts Touring seat. The Low and Touring seat are in same height range. But, Touring version is FAR more comfortable.
GS Low seat is about 1" lower then the standard seat set on the lowest position; GS Standard seat has a low/hi setting (most run high on the front low on the rear to keep from being a nut squishier). In low this seat is about 1" higher than the low seat and set on the highest setting is about 2" higher; GSA seat has low/hi settings.
Practical touring accessories include adjustable levers, LED lighting, and a tough engine guard. For 2021, the F 850 GS is available in three color options: Racing Red, Rallye Blue Metallic, or a special edition black and yellow design that celebrates 40 years of the GS brand designation. The 2021 BMW F 850 GS starts at $13,545 USD / $15,100 CAD.
